"Everyone knows how eczema looks like, yet no one knows what eczema is"
Heinrich Adolf Gottron (1890-1974)
Diseases from the spectrum of dermatitis and eczema are among most frequent diseases plaguing the mankind. Still not enough is being done in order to study, understand, and combat these diseases. Too many doctors are treating eczema and dermatitis without trying to understand what they are dealing with. This school is aimed at everyone interested in this fascinating topic. The Faculty consists of prominent researchers and excellent teachers from all over Europe, including:
Flora de Waard-van der Spek (Netherlands) Ana Gimenez-Arnau (Spain) Clive Grattan (UK) Cezary Kowalewski (Poland) Antti Lauerma (Finland) Roman Nowicki (Poland) Vera Mahler (Germany) Jean-Francois Nicolas (France) Thomas Werfel (Germany) Brunello Wüthrich (Switzerland) Anna Zalewska-Janowska (Poland)
The course will include lectures which communicate basic and advanced knowledge (basic principles, epidemiology, clinical manifestations, indications for allergy testing, diagnostic methods, interpretation of results, novel diagnostic tests, prevention, therapy), workshops with interactive practical demonstration of skin tests and discussion of clinical cases. All sessions will be held in English. In order to achieve an intimate and collegial atmosphere, to leave plenty of space for discussion and obtain optimum conditions for practical aspects, the number of participants will be limited to 60.
