Valentina Broshtilova graduated the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Sofia in 2001. Since 2002 she was enrolled in the residency programme of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at the Medical University of Sofia, which she successfully boarded in 2006. In December 2008 she was certified by the International Committee for Dermatopathology and the Union Europeenne des Medecins Specialistes/ European Union of Medical Specialists, Section of Dermato-pathology and Section of Pathology to obtain Special Qualification in Dermatopathology. To date she works as an attending at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Faculty of Medicine, Sofia. She has been a fellow at the Medical Departments of Yale School of Medicine, New Haven ( USA ), Medical University of Ghent ( Belgium ), and Medical University of Graz (Austria).
Her special interests are Dermatopathology and Biogenic polyamine metabolism in bening and neoplastic skin proliferations. She has published two international book chapters, and more than 20 papers in international dermatology journals, and participated in many national and international congresses with oral and/or poster presentations. She is a Member of the Bulgarian Dermatological Society and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
